I contacted Amy, founder of Smart Mom about doing a review & giveaway for one of her Teething Bling necklaces that I've been drooling over. She sent me out the Jade Donut Pendant. I swear it was the fastest shipping ever! We also were able to giveaway a diaper for review on their Facebook Page. As soon as their Smart Mom finishes her review, we'll share it with you.

When the mail arrived that day, it was as if my 15 month old knew that the package was for her. My husband grabbed the mail & told her to bring me the package. I set it aside so I could finish sewing before I opened; but, she wasn't going to settle for that. She climbed up on me, grabbed the package, shoved it in my face & started talking in her randomness. Needless to say, I stopped sewing to open the package.

It was so cool to see her face light up! It was so funny because I had never showed her Teething Bling before nor had I told her it was for her. Yet, she started bouncing up and down & squealing with excitement I said, "Oh, we have to take a picture before you can see it." She was not impressed.

I wish I had video recorded it instead because she could hardly control her excitement. Ok she really couldn't control it at all! She kept squatting in front of it making "OoOoOooo" & squealing noises. When I finally opened it, she quickly grabbed it & put it right in her mouth!! She walked around with it in her mouth for about an hour solid. She walked around the house and showed everyone her new love. She has since carried it with her everywhere each day since then.  She'll put it in her mouth for a little while, then set it down & go play with something else for a while & come back and put the teething bling in her mouth again.The only other toys that she puts in a safe place & comes back for throughout the day are her baby doll & her 'quack, quack.'

Amy is so genius! She designed these amazing teething products & its the first one that my daughter has actually wanted to keep in her mouth. Normally she chews on everything but her teething toys. I absolutely love Teething Bling & highly recommend it to anyone who has a teething baby! They also carry bangles and Babe Magnet Ties.

First Lifetime Supply Donation: Cambria

We had our first donation on Thursday! We were able to give a lifetime supply of Booty Buns Cloth Diapers to a beautiful little girl named Cambria who has Spinal Muscular atrophy  and will need to be in diapers for the rest of her life.

It was such an amazing experience!  She is local to the Orange county area; so, we were lucky enough to meet her and her mom and give them the diapers in person. I have been so moved by Cambria and her story, word cannot not even express the gratitude I feel for the chance to meet her & her mom. They have taught me a huge lesson in strength, unconditional love and faith.



My favorite part was seeing how much she likes her new diapers! She can say a few words & communicates through a lot of facial expressions. Her mom asked her if she liked her new diapers and she said, "Yeah!" and raised her eyebrows. When we showed her each color and asked, "Do you like this one?" she gave the same response. I couldn't have asked for a better reaction!



We had some pictures taken and as soon as they are ready to be posted, they'll be up along with the rest of Cambria's amazing story & her mother's inspiring thoughts.

Cloth Diaper Giveaways 2012

Not to long ago I thought Booty Buns Cloth Diapers' name was in one of the posts on the front page of Google when 'cloth diapers' was searched. But when I got all excited about it & shared it everywhere, I found out that I got excited too fast. I learned about personal results. 

 

Apparently, if you are signed into your gmail account and search for anything on Google, personal results will show up. Honestly, I am still not 100% sure how they work; but, my guess is that they are blogs. In my case when the blog that showed up on the front page for me had won one of our giveaways & we had emailed each other. Maybe that had something to do with why it showed up first; but, then again like I said I am just guessing.

Since our Go Green ♥ Give Charity Event launched tonight, I really wanted to see where we are tonight. I made SURE that I was completely logged out of any and all email accounts before I searched. This time I searched for 'cloth diaper giveaways' and 

BAM!!!

Sweet Potato Fries ~ Bites With Gigglingtoes Guest Post

Hi, I'm Jen from Bites With Gigglingtoes. I am so flattered Shannon asked me to do a guest post on her blog and I hope that all the Mom's out there find this recipe easy and their kiddo's love it.

I am doing Baby Led Weaning with my 7 month old and sweet potatoes are one of his favorite's.  Of course with every meal, I have to think of my 9 year old son's preference's too, so I decided to try sweet potato fries so that both my boys could enjoy them.

Get out some paprika and brown sugar and mix them in a small bowl.  I didn't use exact measurements, I kind of just added to my taste and liking but you could say maybe 5 tablespoons of each.  

Once you taste it and it's not too spicy or sweet

 add about 1 tablespoon of salt to the bowl.

Cut up 2 sweet potatoes across and then long ways and lay them on foil.

  I suggest spraying the foil with Pam or olive oil or something so they won't stick.

Then you can sprinkle the mixture from the bowl over the top of the sweet potatoes and drizzle olive oil over them (not much just about 4 tablespoons of olive oil)

They should look like the above photo.  Bake at 450 for 20 minutes- longer if you want them crispier.  

Then enjoy!!!
